For data security, the device is equipped with comprehensive Layer 2 – Layer 4 traffic management capabilities that offers rate limiting and internal segmentation firewall support. Performance of this switch is enhanced by wire-speed packet forwarding across all traffic types on the hardware platform. In terms of power consumption, the Arista DCS-7304X-FM is energy-efficient, featuring almost 8 watts per GbE port when operational. This model also has a low latency of 6 ms for the full duplex links on both 10G and 40G ports and less than 1 ms for the full duplex links on 100 GbE ports. For cooling requirements, this switch includes one airflow module in either rear-to-front or front-to-rear options.
