The Avocent ACS5048DAC is a secure, reliable and efficient professional-grade console server. This device provides administrators with easy access, control and manage centralized IT networks from anywhere distance. It features a 48-port RJ45 serial port for access to all connected devices, a scalable eight-port advanced console KVM switch, integrated authentication, and a flexible and secure virtual media platform for remote data transfer with encrypted connections. This console server has an operating temperature range from 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F), and supports up to 48 ports of serial/RJ45 across four units of the ACS5048DAC device through integrated KVM-over-IP technology. Additionally, this device is preloaded with software to allow it to easily be integrated and managed in an organization’s existing network environment. The ACS5048DAC has a 500 MHz AMD Geode LX800 processor which provides enough power to efficiently process requests and data exchanged over its two 10/100/1000 Mbps gigabit Ethernet ports. This device also comes with four USB 2.0 compatible ports are available, including two USB Flash drive ports one USB Console port, and one USB Port Aggregation Module, which allows additional serial ports to be added when connected to an external serial port hub. All this makes data transmission much faster and smoother than older serial console servers. The integrated firewall, redundant power supplies and web-based management features of the Avocent ACS5048DAC company provide secure access even for complex networks where limited physical access is available. The customized security features can be used with Active Directory or LDAP for complete identity management allowing for single sign-on for administrators, as well as offering encryption services up to 256 bit secure access.
