This switch is a powerhouse. The PoE+ capability is perfect for VoIP phones and wireless access points, and the 40Gbps uplink ports provide plenty of bandwidth for data centers. The Cisco C6800-48P-SFP is a reliable and high-performing switch. The dual power supplies and hot-swappable fans give peace of mind for maintenance and uptime. Overview

The Cisco C6800-48P-SFP is a high-end switch specifically designed to meet data center requirements. It is a stackable switch with up to four 10/100/1000 Mbps ports, four Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) interfaces, and twelve Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports. The switch supports up to 48Gbps of wire-speed, nonblocking switching capacity; up to 128 Gbps stacking bandwidth; up to 40 Gigabit Ethernet (GE) ports; and up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GE) port connections. In addition, this device offers high-performance enterprise switching in a stackable form factor, enabling it to meet the challenges of enterprise campus and data center networks. Its hardware specifications include two line cards consisting of sixteen integrated 10/100/1000 Mbps data ports and two SFP ports that allow for flexible connection of expansion modules into a chassis. The PoE ports support industry standard 802.3af and 802.3at standards and can deliver up to 30W per port or 15.4W per port respectively, allowing for high-density deployments of powered devices such as VoIP phones or wireless access points. Furthermore, the device supports Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) to reduce power consumption during times of lower link utilization. On the back panel of the C6800-48P-SFP is one expansion slot that supports up to four additional 1/10GE line cards. These line cards offer line-rate forwarding at 24Gbps per slot with up to 40Gbps of total throughput for all installed line cards. Additionally, Virtual Line Card (VLC) technology supports up to eight virtual line cards from each physical line card slot with nonblocking switching capacity of up to 32Gbps per VLC. Additionally, the C6800-48P-SFP features high availability features such as redundant power supplies and hot swappable fan trays that allow for continuous service operation even in the event of unit or component failure. Finally, this switch is Cisco StackWise Plus capable, allowing for full nonstop system operation with dual master switches and active stateful failover between them.
