Cisco DWDM-SFP-3977 is a reliable and high performance Hot-Swappable DWDM SFP+ Module designed for extended reach transmission over single mode fiber. It is capable of transmitting up to 40 Gigabit Ethernet frame over distances of up to 80km at half a nanosecond latency. The Cisco DWDM-SFP-3977 meets the industry requirements in terms of power dissipation and link performance. Additionally, the module provides reliable data transmission on an extended transmission wavelength range from 1528.77nm to 1566.86nm with a maximum equivalent isotropically radiated power (EIRP) of -0.85 dbm. The Cisco DWDM-SFP-3977 mid-span reach operates at a nominal wavelength of 1544.5nm and transmits at 40 GbE, compatible with the IEEE 802.3ba 40GBASE-LR4 standard. The optical receiver supports four channels on one fiber, causing four laser diodes with different wavelengths to be transmitted simultaneously into one strand of standard single mode fiber (SMF). The Cisco DWDM-SFP-3977 is backwards compatible with Cisco NX 1300 Series transceivers, fiber switches (3850, 3945 and 4507), extenders (4622FE, 4621FE and 3850IG) and router systems (8001ER and 8001ERL). With a media temperature operating range of 0oC to 70oC, the Cisco DWDM–SFP–3977 is optimized for multiple functioning conditions providing an improved level of control in terms of power consumption and reducing occurrences from heater and fan noise interference in the data center application areas. Additionally, it helps improve energy efficiency by reducing packet loss due to its advanced signal integrity design. The module is designed for electro-static discharge protection against up to 8kV air discharge and 4kV contact discharge per IEC61000-4-2 ESD requirement class 4 contact discharge test. Furthermore, it meets multiple safety certifications like UL 60950, EN 60825 Class 1 Laser Product S&F Class I Eye Safety Requirements and CE & RoHS Compliance.
