This rack-mounted appliance integrates an enterprise-grade firewall, an advanced application control system and an intrusion prevention system (IPS) on a high-performance platform to securely connect organizations of any size to the Internet. The SonicWall RE-MX2000-1800X4-S hardware offers powerful protection with up to 1800 Mbps firewall throughput and 1700 Mbps IPS throughput. It has four integrated 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports, two columns of LEDs for visual status monitoring, and can accommodate up to six LAN/WAN interfaces with the optional add-on module. It also supports power redundancy with a redundant power option, so organizations can be sure their network is safe if there’s an unexpected power outage. The SonicWall RE-MX2000-1800X4-S further offers exceptional scalability and flexibility through its modular design. Its centralized management provides advanced capabilities including distributed policies, scheduled updates, virus scanning, and detailed logging for software changes and user activity. The appliance supports up to 500 VLANs for increased security, segmentation and scalability. Additionally it offers support for voice over IP (VoIP) through recognition of Layer 2 and Layer 3 QoS marking for VoIP traffic. In addition, the SonicWall RE-MX2000-1800X4-S comes with strong encryption capabilities leveraging the IPsec VPN technology with support for up to 5000 concurrent tunnels, 50000 site-to-site tunnels and 15000 client gateways. It has an integrated ESXi hypervisor so companies can run multiple virtual machines or Operating Systems (OS) on the same hardware. The appliance also supports High Availability options as well as active/passive clustering configurations to ensure total redundancy against failures.
